"Roopanthara" is the kind of film that stays with you—not because it’s perfect, but because it tries something real. It’s an anthology, so some parts worked better for me than others, but overall, it’s got heart, and that counts for a lot. Midhun Mukundan’s music is gorgeous—honestly, I’d listen to the soundtrack on its own.
My favorite segment was the one about the old couple. There’s something quietly brave about how it tackles love and aging without sugarcoating things. I just wish the film had dug even deeper into that raw, lonely feeling city life can bring—it touched on it, but I wanted more.
Then there’s the dystopian story, which was a cool idea. The VFX weren’t Hollywood-level, but they didn’t need to be—the point came across. A world without stories and there is just one mad storyteller, ruled by greed? Yeah, that hit close to home. It’s a reminder that, in the end, we’re all just… stories. Messy, unfinished, but worth telling.
Did I love every second? No. Some parts needed more emotional punch. But I’m still thinking about it days later, and that’s something. Worth a watch, especially if you like films that aim high, even if they stumble a little.
