"I’ll always root for GVM—because you can feel his love for cinema in every frame. That’s why I went into Dominic and the ladies purse with high hopes, and for the most part, it didn’t disappoint. Sure, there are flaws—they cram in a lot to set up that wild climax, and the screenplay could’ve dug deeper in places—but honestly? I had a fun watching it.

This is a character-driven story, not some tight procedural thriller, and that’s where it shines. The world-building is so effortless, so breezy, that you just sink into it. Classic GVM touches everywhere—you know it’s his film within minutes. And the climax was unexpected and wild and even questionable but it delivered the shock value for sure. Yes, a few loose threads dangle, but the payoff was satisfying that I didn’t even care.

Now, the performances—Mammootty, my god. How does he keep getting cooler with age? The man oozes star power without even trying. Sushma Bhat was a revelation, and Gokul Suresh made for a perfect Watson-style sidekick. Their chemistry kept me hooked even when the plot was falling apart.

At its core, this movie works because it’s simple yet gripping. It feels like you are reading a Enid Blyton story. It doesn’t overcomplicate things—it just lets its characters breathe, then hits you with that one major reveal. And Mammootty? Worth the ticket price alone.
